Help, my DVD drawer won't open (S2000 & S4100)For Casablanca S4000 / S4000PRO - see this page. NOTE: The following information is provided as a service without verification as to the success of this operation. First you must create the 'Emergency USB stick' (with program/application that will assist in the opening of the DVD drawer 2. You will use the 'Emergency USB stick' to open the stuck DVD drawer 1. Part One: Create a emergency USB Stick for opening the DVD Drawer Needed material: • PC with Windows (WindowsXP) • Program: USB Image Tool ( Freeware, get it from http://www.alexpage.de) • USB Stick with min. 128MB. !!! Attention !!! If the USB Stick is greater then 128MB it will be limited to 128 MB. Work Flow: • Download the USB Image Tool (current V1.42) from http://www.alexpage.de and install it on the USB stick (USB drive) • Download the file „USB_Eject_Stick.zip“ (ca. 55MB) - click here http://www.macrosystem.de/downloads/Eject_USB_Stick_en.zip This is a compressed (zipped) file -- once downloaded, unpack the file „USB_Eject_Stick.img“ in a folder. • Put your USB Stick in a free USB port on your computer (PC). • Start the USB Image Tool . • Select “Device Mode” (in the upper left corner). • Select your USB Stick on the left side of the window. !!! Attention !!! Select the right stick, the following operation will erase all data on your USB stick. • Click the Restore button and select the file „USB_Eject_Stick.img“. Apply the operation. !!! Attention !!! Don’t replace the Stick during write operation. • Now your 'Emergency USB Stick' is prepared. 1. Part Two: Emergency open of the DVD drawer (Appropriate for Macrosystem DVC 1000, DVC2000; Casablanca S2000, S4100) Needed material: • VGA Monitor • Keyboard • Emergency USB Stick Procedure: • Connect the monitor with the DVI- jack of the main-board (under the heat-sink) • Connect the keyboard via USB • Put the emergency USB stick in a free USB port. • Start the Casablanca editor • After beep tone press 'F10' for Boot Menu • With the cursor (#) /($) select the USB Stick • Confirm with Return ( 8 ). • After short time the DVD drawer opens. • Remove the defective disk and close the drawer with a light push. • Turn off the machine and remove stick, keyboard and VGA. . |
