Here is an explanation of the front panel connectors on the Casablanca S3000 and S6000
From left to right,
A. This is the 4-pin DV or Firewire jack (ieee1394) for connecting miniDV, DV and HDV cameras and decks. There is also a rear DV port, which is a 6-pin port - never have devices connected to both ports and turned on at the same time.
And NEVER hot-swap your DV (firewire) cables - always turn off the power on DV devices before connecting.
B. USB Ports - these 3 ports allow the connection of USB peripherals, trackball, keyboard, USB flash drive, Card Reader, External HDD (Hard Drive). There are also six USB ports on the rear of your unit!
C. Reset Button - press this button if your Casablanca S3000 or S6000 appears be 'stuck' and is un-responsive after waiting for several minutes to perform an operation - DO NOT press this button while in the middle of a back-up, archival operation or DVD burn, etc. unless instructed to do so by Tech Support.
D. Power Button - this will power your Casablanca editor on and off
